Thank you!

Our organization is based in Tkaronto which in Mohawk means “where there are trees standing in the water”; what is colonially known as Toronto, Canada. Our activities span from the shores of Lake Ontario in Etobicoke, up to higher lands in North York. This land on which we dance has been the site of human activity for over 15,000 years and is the traditional territory of many nations including the Anishinaabe, the Haudenosaunee, the Wendat, the Chippewa; and the current treaty holders, the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. Toronto is covered by Treaty 13, and therefore we are, as settlers, migrants, and those who came here involuntarily, including as a result of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade, all Treaty people.
